As an intuitive acupuncturist, I work within the construct of the acupuncture modality by which energy, or Qi, is encouraged to move within your body for balance and healing. In addition, I supplement this ancient wisdom with an intuitive knowing. I am aware of the multidimensionality of acupuncture and its potential as a powerful healing modality on several levels. So I combine ancient wisdom with a broader knowing to encourage your body's cells to rebalance, restructure, and strengthen for the ultimate healing of itself.
Acupuncture taps into the Qi, or electro-magnetic circuitry of your body. Very fine, sterilized needles are inserted at the most appropriate acupuncture points to balance energy distribution to the organs and to all areas of your body. In addition, I enhance the flow of Qi that is activated from insertion of the needles and direct it to specific areas of your body that require healing or rebalancing.
From a scientifically documented perspective the needles, which are left in place for 20-30 minutes, will do many things including:
This technique strengthens and balances your Qi, or life force, often with profound results. Medical QiGong has been used to successfully treat difficult, stubborn, and life-threatening conditions that do not respond well to other types of treatment. It can also enhance Western therapies and alleviate their side-effects. Non-invasive, safe, and gentle, Medical Qi Gong is especially suited to people who are sensitive or in frail health.
Through using this modality in conjunction with acupuncture, I am able to enhance or uplevel the Light, Qi, or Life Force (all one in the same) of your organ systems and your body as a whole. The healing of fractures or surgeries can be accelerated, and bone spurs, neuromas and other obstructions in the musculo-skeletal structures can diminish. The removal of external pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites may be expedited more quickly. In general, healing anywhere in your body will be enhanced.
Chinese herbs have been proven over thousands of years to alleviate the causes and symptoms of disease. They can be naturally gentle and with no side effects when administered knowledgeably by a licensed herbalist as myself. In addition, I am able to sense and feel how particular herbs and supplements act and react within your body.Red Vine I am able, by using pulse diagnosis (one essential diagnostic tool of Traditional Chinese Medicine) as well as by other means, to "sense" the energy of the herbs/supplements within your body and whether they enhance or hinder the energy of each of your organ systems and your body as a whole. I am careful to only prescribe those that are synergistic with the uniqueness of your body.
A well-documented methodology that combines allergy treatment with acupuncture, NAET (Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique) can eliminate all types of allergies. In addition to traditional allergies, NAET broadens the scope of the word "allergy" to include any substance that causes an adverse bodily reaction. This method can help even people who are not considered allergy sufferers. Food, airborne, and chemical sensitivities can cause a myriad of symptoms, many of which are mistakenly attributed to various diseases and conditions.
Your body's ability to heal from injury depends greatly upon its bio-mechanical function. First any spinal distortions or misalignments must be addressed prior to any soft tissue healing because any uneven stress distribution on muscles can cause a variety of bodily symptoms and pain. So I first correct spinal distortions, based on a bone alignment and joint movement analysis. Using a specialized technique called Hirano Myo-Osteo Therapy (HMOT), I relieve painful tension on nerves, muscles, and joints. This technique also improves circulation, eliminates toxins, and soothes muscle inflammation. Then acupuncture is administered to realign the energy (Qi) flow in your body and reduce inflammation, followed by deep tissue manipulation to de-stress your body's soft tissue as well as to minimize muscle tension in order to relieve pain in those injured parts.
A complete and sustained healing of your body must include attention to what you feed it. This is so important for both generation of energy and for self regeneration of cells making up all structures within your body. Attention must also include the ways in which your body is allowed to rest as well as exercised and cared for on a daily basis. These I address on a case by case basis.
In general, there are two foods that I strongly discourage my patients from eating: sugar and dairy. Sugar causes a myriad of problems within your body. Here are some of the many detrimental effects: It causes inflammation in your joints, soft tissue and other parts of your body; it causes a leaching of calcium from your bones and into your bloodstream to re-alkalize your body from the detrimental acidic effects of the sugar; it causes a hormonal imbalance in your body; and it lowers your white blood cell count (part of your immune system) for up to eight hours after ingesting it. Dairy, on the other hand, causes phlegm (in Chinese Medicine it is referred to as "dampness") which slows down or hinders the optimal functioning of all systems of your body, notwithstanding the detrimental effects of hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides that are in the dairy already.
I have also found that a Gluten intolerance has become prevalent in increasing numbers of people. This protein in wheat and wheat-containing products can affect people in various ways, from digestive problems to sinus and lung problems to muscle and joint pain to an overall sense of fatigue and general malaise. I can test for this possiblity in you along with testing for other food intolerances, as called for in your appointments with me.
